Great memories! We had a window AC that was only on on hot days and fans. At night, the windows were opened. In the morning, we'd "shut up the house" to keep the cool as long as possible. It was on a farm. There were no cold places to go. Now, I work and live with central air, but being out in a dry heat doesn't bother me much. I water from my rain barrels until they go dry and then I have to use the city water. I mulch well to keep that to a minimum. Hoping for cooler weather and rain for all of us!
