Crisp apples…sweet pears…tangy turnips..it’s time for fall! I don’t know about you, but I always feel like snuggling into my kitchen and cooking up a big pot of something warming when the slightest hint of fall comes my way. I’m not a big fan of “pumpkin everything”, but I do love apples and pears, and I love eating them fresh or cooked into yummy desserts.

I also love the tart, bitter, peppery tastes of fall vegetables: broccoli and kale, cabbage and cauliflower, Brussels sprouts and turnips. Mixed with the sweet taste of winter squashes such as acorn and butternut squash or even the fun spaghetti squash, the harvest table brims with healthy, vitamin-filled bounty from the garden.
