They were easy to make, but be careful &#8211; I managed to spill hot oil on my arm as I was pulling the tray out of the oven and gave myself a nasty burn. Always use extreme care and caution when working around hot ovens and oil.<\/p>\n<h1>Parsnip Oven Fries<\/h1>\n<p>Parsnip oven fries use the parsnip root instead of potatoes to create spicy French fries in the oven. All you need is some ingredients from around your kitchen and a metal tray with high sides, such as a jelly roll pan or a rectangular roasting pan. I used a roasting pan for my recipe.<\/p>\n<p>Preheat your oven to 450 degrees F.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2-4 large parsnips<\/li>\n<li>2-4 garlic cloves<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons olive oil<\/li>\n<li>Coarse salt<\/li>\n<li>Pepper<\/li>\n<li>Lowry Seasonings or Similar Hot Spice Mix<\/li>\n<li>Rosemary sprigs or dried rosemary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Cut the top and bottom off of the parsnip. Peel the parsnip and wash it well. Slice the roots into 1\/2 inch by 3 inch or so &#8220;french fry&#8221; shapes. Arrange them on a single layer on the metal tray.<\/p>\n<p>Drizzle with olive oil and mix until the parsnips are coated with oil. Peel and dice the garlic into tiny pieces and sprinkle on the parsnips. Sprinkle the rosemary, salt, pepper and seasoning mixture on the parsnips, too.<\/p>\n<p>Bake for 10 minutes, stir, and bake for another 20 minutes until parsnips are crispy and brown. Remove from the oven and place parsnips onto a plate lined with paper towels to blot the excess oil.
