They&#8217;re supposed to take a rest in July, but the cooler summer temperatures and abundant rains, plus all that mushroom compost I added to the soil in the spring, have made them quite happy. I am still picking about a pint of fresh garden berries every two or three days, and while the berries are on the small side, they are no less delicious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This morning, I whipped up a strawberry breakfast smoothie &nbsp;recipethat came out great. I named it Strawberry Breakfast Smoothie Surprise because I surprised myself with the sweet, filling concoction. I&#8217;m not a huge fan of breakfast smoothies but this one is a keeper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-strawberry-breakfast-smoothie-recipe\">Strawberry Breakfast Smoothie Recipe<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>To make this quick breakfast smoothie, you&#8217;ll need a blender plus the following ingredients:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1 cup of fresh strawberries, rinsed with tops sliced off<\/li><li>1 cup of frozen mixed berries or strawberries<\/li><li>1 cup of plain yogurt or berry-flavored yogurt<\/li><li>1 cup of cranberry or cranberry blend juice<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Place the juice into the blender first, then the yogurt, then the fresh and frozen berries. Blend for 30 to 60 seconds. Pour into glasses and serve.
