The amaryllis is in full bloom, unveiling surprises each week. Four blossoms at the top of the main stalk have produced a spectacular flower, with another side flower emerging. “Apple Blossom” amaryllis features dark salmon-colored petals striped in white and a light fragrance that’s slightly spicy. It’s holding up well in the east-facing plant room, and I give the pot a quarter turn each day so that it grows straight and tall. I haven’t even had to tie up the stalks to the bamboo stake I placed in the pot. It’s really holding its own.
Not what will my next Monday project be? Stay tuned and come back next week for my new Monday gardening project!
