March Gardening Tips Are Ready

I took this photo on Saturday: crocus blooming.

March certainly roars in like a lion!  On Saturday, I spotted the first yellow crocus blooming in the garden, and took the picture, above.  Sunday, it was so warm that John and I worked outside in the fruit tree orchard, pruning and checking the trees, in jeans and sweatshirts while the cats playing in the mulch. Today, temperatures plunged to the 20s in a matter of hours, and tonight it will be in the single digits. The cats are enjoying “indoor cat day” in front of the heating vents while snow and ice cover my poor crocus, above.

Well, March is an iffy month no matter how you look at it.  It can be a winter day or a spring day, warm or cold, snow or rain, sunshine and blue skies or sleet.
