Fall Bulb Planting: Colorblends Tulip Blends

May 23, 2022 by Jeanne

Colorblends tulips provide a carpet of spring color. Fall is the time when you should plant spring bulbs. Bulbs need the cold weather of winter in order to grow properly in the spring. The best time to plant them in Zone 7B (where Home Garden Joy gardens) is late October – early November.

Fall Bulb Planting – Try Colorblends Tulip Blends

Fall bulb planting season goes into big color overdrive with the announcement of seven new tulip blends from Colorblends.com. Each year, landscape professionals and avid home gardeners nationwide look to the Connecticut-based flower bulb wholesaler for foolproof spring bulb displays designed for maximum impact and beauty. This year’s selections will not disappoint – Colorblends now offers a whopping 86 choices of tulip blends, each designed to bloom beautifully together or in close sequence.

Tulip Blend

Among Colorblends’ new blends are: Tulip Blend iimagination™ featuring three greigii tulips that light up early-mid spring landscapes with a carpet of red, yellow, rich pink and cream flowers; Tulip Blend Dawn to Dusk™ with a crisp mix of three cup-shaped tulips (one fringed) that bloom mid spring in a medley of white, deep purple and soft yellow lightly touched with red; and BedSpread® Tulip Blend Vidal™ with an artful, all-white mix of five varieties of tulips, some with green accents, for large-scale displays that span the mid to late spring bloom seasons.

New Tulip Varieties

Colorblends also offers single varieties. New choices include: Tulip ‘Purple Lady’ with a rich purple flower marked by flushes of deep red; Allium ‘Universe’ which has an awesome 8½-inch flower head of silvery-purple florets atop a relatively short, sturdy stem; Narcissus ‘Joyce Spirit’ with pointed white petals framing a ruffled orange cup set off by an unusual yellow halo at the base; and Amaryllis ‘Pyjama Party’ with eye-catching, smaller flowers that have one pattern of red and white on the front and a different pattern on the back.

In addition to tulip blends, Colorblends’ lineup includes 14 daffodil blends, five hyacinth blends, three crocus blends, one grape hyacinth blend, and a woodland blend. The company also offers a broad range of bulb types sold as single varieties.

Colorblends Wholesale Flowerbulbs sells direct to landscape professionals and home gardeners nationwide with a minimum order of $60. To order visit Colorblends.com or call 1-888-847-8637.
