If you love to grow chrysanthemums, then consider joining your local chapter of the Chrysanthemum Society. My dad showed mums on Long Island in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and he enjoyed the friendly, competitive spirit. Local clubs provide growing tips as well as information, education and annual shows.
Garden clubs and clubs for specific flower types offer those with a passion for a particular flower a chance to socialize, learn and enjoy their hobby. Whether you like growing orchids, African violets, mums or gourds, there’s probably a society near you!
