Best Gardening Boots for Women: Hisea Boots Review

September 22, 2023 by Jeanne

Many articles say they review the best gardening boots for women – but I’ve actually found them, tested them, worn them slogging through wet grass and mud and soil – and I can save for sure: Hisea boots ROCK.

Disclosure of Sponsored Post and Affiliate Relationship: The following is my honest product review of Hisea women’s gardening boots. I was compensated with one free pair of boots that Hisea sent to me to test but this review is my own opinion. I received one pair or Hisea ankle boots (as shown on my feet). Best Gardening Boots for Women: Review of Hisea Gardening Boots

I have been looking for a pair of waterproof gardening shoes for a long time. My last pair of gardening shoes was a pair of Sloggers rubber gardening clogs purchased at Tractor Supply, a local farm and garden store. Unfortunately, although the rubber held out for a long time, the insoles detached and crumpled up like cheap paper. I had to throw them out.

So I was a bit skeptical when the people at Hisea contacted me about their product. I hesitantly agreed to test a pair on our farm and garden. If they could stand up to soggy, wet grass, wet soil, and walking the dog in downpours, they would definitely be a welcome addition to my gardening supplies and a product I could recommend to you.

What’s in the Box: Boots and An Amazing 100 Year Guarantee

The first thing I noticed when I unpacked my pair of Hisea boots was a card about the size of a credit card. Emblazoned on it was “100% Dry & Warm Guaranteed.” Hisea doesn’t just use the slogan ‘dry and warm’ – they stand behind it. They offer a 100 year guarantee that their boots will keep you dry and warm. I have never seen a company put such a strong guarantee behind their products!

You have to register your purchase with Hisea for the guarantee, but it sure does give you peace of mind when buying their gardening boots that the company stands behind the product.

Billed as Warm and Waterproof Gardening Boots

I put Hisea’s “warm and waterproof” claim to the test this morning as I set out in the garden. Waterproof is my biggest demand when it comes to gardening boots. I hate getting my feet wet and my socks soggy. But, because I usually garden in sneakers or a pair of old hiking boots, inevitable the heavy dews lead to soaked footwear.

Here are the boots after testing. You can see the grass in the treads and how wet and mucky it was where I walked. I put them to the test and they remained waterproof!

Testing Conditions

Hisea’s boots were 100% waterproof. I tested them under the following conditions today:

  • Soaking wet grass
  • Mud
  • Compost (I stepped into the compost pile itself)
  • Soil (I picked green beans in the raised bed)

Under all four conditions, the boots remained completely waterproof. I was able to set them outside to dry and shake off the grass. I could just as easily have rinsed them under the hose to get the mud and muck off. Wearing time was about 45 minutes for this test.

Tonight we are expecting heavy rains to roll in and tomorrow, a tropical storm. I plan to wear my Hisea boots while walking my dog. If they can withstand tropical storm force rains tomorrow without getting my socks soaked, they are a winner!

Very Comfortable: Sized Just Right

I requested a size 10 women’s USA pair of boots. I tried them on with two different pairs of socks: white athletic socks and men’s heavy wool work socks. The boots easily flexed to accommodate the added cushioning of the work socks without a problem. And, the Hisea gardening boots felt comfortable as I tramped across the yard, into the beds to pick green beans, and around the yard.

My feet have numerous problems: bone spurs, bunions, and so on. Hisea is definitely the best women’s gardening books: they remained quite comfortable no matter how long I wore them or the terrain. No pinching, no gaps, no rolling.

Fits True to Size

Some reviewers said the boots were too big. The pair that was sent to me was a women’s size 10 USA and fit fine whether I wore heavy socks or typical women’s athletic socks. I would say they fit true to size and maybe slightly large.

Easy On and Off

The boots have a sturdy, reflective loop on the ankle that make them easy to pull on. The reflective tape looks were sewn to the rubber. I like the fact that the loops are reflective, too, as it adds a bit of a safety feature on a rain day.

Taking them off also went smoothly. I did not need my boot jack to get them off. I toed them off in the garage to avoid tracking wet grass through the house, and then came off after a bit of a suction-feeling like rubber rain boots.

All in all, I love the Hisea gardening boots. They definitely live up to the warm and waterproof promise. The quality, construction, and comfort level are outstanding for gardening boots. I look forward to testing them tomorrow. Maybe, finally, I can walk the dog on a rainy day without changing my socks ten times!

If you are looking for a sturdy pair of gardening boots that are a good value for the money, I recommend Hisea ankle gardening boots for women without hesitation. The company also makes boots for men, work boots and farm boots. Visit Hisea for the full product selection.

Hisea waterproof ankle boots are one of the gardening boots I have ever worn or tested. They beat the old muckers I used to wear around the barn when I worked as a horse stable groom, beat my old L.L. Bean rain shoes, and were definitely superior to Sloggers clogs. They were, however, heavy after wearing for a while, and in the summer, would be too hot for long periods of gardening. It gets HOT in Virginia! But all in all, I do recommend them. The waterproof factor alone is worth it to me.

Get a pair or recommend them to your gardening friends!

How to Prepare Raised Beds for Spring Planting

The snow and ice have finally melted. In the mornings when I walk my dog through our farm, I can hear a rooster crowing on a neighboring farm. Cardinals have begun singing in the dawn. It’s spring, folks. And while the calendar reminds me we can still feel winter’s icy breath, spring planting is just…
