Is it an alien? No, it’s asparagus – asparagus season is here! And to honor one of my favorite veggies, I’ve written a brand-new blog post for Virginia Gardener magazine’s website on Growing Asparagus in Virginia.
You can also catch an earlier post I wrote for Home Garden Joy on How to Grow Asparagus too.
Heart of Virginia Master Gardeners Plant Sale
Saturday, May 2, 2015
Farmville, Virginia Train Station
7 a.m. to 2 p.m or whenever the plants run out
Come on down to shop for this season’s plants! The Heart of Virginia Master Gardener volunteers have grown a delightful assortment of annuals, perennials, herbs and vegetables. We will have a Mother’s Day planting table for the kids so they can make a gift for Mom, a book sales, and more. Master Gardeners will be available to answer your gardening questions.
I’ll be working early in the day and I’ve grown some Brandywine tomatoes and marigolds for the sale. I also cleaned out my house plant collection and will have aloe and various succulents available for sale.
I love the plant sale and there is something for everyone! If you live near Prince Edward County, Virginia, and need some great plants for your garden, please stop by and shop. All purchases go towards HOVMG gardening programs for the public.
