Iris Flower Pictures

May 4, 2015 by Jeanne

No two ways about it…irises make me happy. Supremely happy. Today marks the first day that the irises in my flower garden are blooming, so I thought I would share these iris flower pictures. Enjoy!

rainbow iris

First year that this iris is blooming – it’s a gift from a friend!

iris purple and white

My father in law moved in with us from his home on Long Island, NY. He drove to Virginia with a bag of iris roots on his lap. This is the iris he dug up. It smells like grape soda pop and it will always remind me of Jack.

Swedish Tea Bread

I first made Swedish tea bread for my 50th birthday. Three of my friends have birthdays in the same month and invited me to their family group birthday celebration (they are all relatives). I shaped the bread into braided rings and decorated it with sliced almonds. It was a hit, and I have made it…
