March Gardening Tips Are Ready

March 3, 2014 by Jeanne

I took this photo on Saturday: crocus blooming.

March certainly roars in like a lion!  On Saturday, I spotted the first yellow crocus blooming in the garden, and took the picture, above.  Sunday, it was so warm that John and I worked outside in the fruit tree orchard, pruning and checking the trees, in jeans and sweatshirts while the cats playing in the mulch. Today, temperatures plunged to the 20s in a matter of hours, and tonight it will be in the single digits. The cats are enjoying “indoor cat day” in front of the heating vents while snow and ice cover my poor crocus, above.

Well, March is an iffy month no matter how you look at it.  It can be a winter day or a spring day, warm or cold, snow or rain, sunshine and blue skies or sleet.

Some of March’s gardening tasks can be completed indoors, while others require time outside. Download my free March gardening tip sheet today, and use your time wisely to accomplish your gardening tasks. Before you know it, spring will be here for good, and the garden will beckon you outdoors.

I shaped the bread into braided rings and decorated it with sliced almonds. It was a hit, and I have made it…

How to Start Composting in Winter
